Adult Cognitive Wellness Centre Brings Circl Brain Health Technology to Support Early Cognitive Wellness

A new step toward prevention, early awareness, and proactive brain health for seniors and family caregivers

The Adult Cognitive Wellness Centre is proud to announce a new partnership with Circl Brain Health, bringing innovative brainwave-sensing technology to our cognitive wellness services.

At ACWC, our mission has always been to help seniors live stronger, stay connected, and maintain independence for as long as possible. We know that many families begin looking for support only after memory loss, confusion, stress, or cognitive changes become more noticeable. But what if we could notice changes earlier? What if we could support the brain before decline becomes more difficult to manage?

This is why we are excited to bring Circl to our community.

Circl uses research-backed brainwave data to help measure how the brain processes information and how cognitive function changes over time. According to Circl, the assessment is powered by P300, a well-established neurophysiological marker used to understand cognitive processing and brain function. Circl’s technology offers objective insight into areas such as brain power, brain speed, alertness, focus, and memory.

Why early cognitive awareness matters

Cognitive changes often begin subtly. A person may still appear independent, but family members may notice small changes in memory, attention, mood, processing speed, or energy. These early signs can be easy to dismiss as normal aging, stress, fatigue, or lack of sleep.

At ACWC, we believe early awareness can create better choices.

When we understand how the brain is functioning, we can guide seniors and families toward meaningful support, including cognitive stimulation, recreation therapy, movement, social engagement, stress reduction, nutrition awareness, caregiver support, and other brain-health strategies.

Circl gives us another tool to support this mission. It helps make invisible changes more visible by tracking brain function over time, so individuals and their care teams can better understand trends and progress. Circl describes its technology as a way to establish a baseline through a brief 10-minute assessment, then monitor changes longitudinally to identify patterns in recovery, performance, and cognitive wellness.

How Circl works

The Circl assessment is simple, non-invasive, and designed to support objective brain health monitoring.

A person completes a short assessment using the Circl app and headset. The technology measures brainwave activity while the brain responds to specific information-processing tasks. The results can help show how different parts of cognitive function are performing and changing over time.

Circl highlights several core areas of cognitive insight, including:

Brain power — how strongly the brain responds during cognitive processing.
Brain speed — how quickly the brain processes information.
Alertness — how ready and responsive the brain is.
Focus — attention and concentration-related performance.
Memory — information-processing patterns connected to memory function.

These results are not meant to replace a doctor, diagnosis, or medical assessment. Instead, they provide valuable information that can support conversations with healthcare professionals, families, and wellness teams.

Supporting prevention, not waiting for crisis

At the Adult Cognitive Wellness Centre, we do not believe families should have to wait until a crisis happens before receiving support. Brain health deserves the same proactive attention we give to heart health, blood pressure, mobility, and nutrition.

Research and clinical brain-health initiatives increasingly emphasize prevention and modifiable lifestyle factors. The McCance Brain Care Score, for example, focuses on factors such as blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress, relationships, and life purpose as important areas connected to long-term brain health.

This aligns deeply with ACWC’s approach. We support the whole person — mind, body, emotion, spirit, social connection, and daily purpose.

By bringing Circl into our programs, we are strengthening our ability to help seniors and caregivers understand brain wellness earlier and take action sooner.

Why this partnership matters for seniors and caregivers

Family caregivers often carry tremendous stress. They may notice changes in their loved one but feel unsure when to ask for help. Seniors may also feel anxious about memory changes and may avoid discussing them because of fear or stigma.

Circl offers a gentle and proactive way to begin the conversation.

Instead of waiting for decline, we can begin with awareness. Instead of fear, we can offer education. Instead of only reacting, we can create a plan.

Through this partnership, ACWC hopes to help more seniors and families:

Recognize subtle cognitive changes earlier
Track cognitive wellness over time
Understand areas such as focus, memory, alertness, and processing speed
Receive personalized guidance and support
Build stronger brain-health habits
Feel more empowered and less alone

A message from Adult Cognitive Wellness Centre

We are grateful to the Circl team for trusting ACWC to be part of bringing this meaningful technology to seniors, families, and communities in the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island.

This partnership is very close to our mission. Every day, we see how much families need earlier support, better education, and more hope. Cognitive wellness is not only about memory loss. It is about independence, confidence, connection, purpose, and quality of life.

At ACWC, we believe in focusing on ability. With Circl, we are taking another step toward helping people live stronger, protect their brain health, and feel supported earlier in their journey.
