A New Dementia-Friendly Day Program in Victoria
We’re proud to announce a meaningful new partnership between the Adult Cognitive Wellness Centre (ACWC) and Chartwell Vista Retirement Community – launching a dementia-friendly day program that offers far more than just care. It offers connection, relief, and belonging – not just for individuals living with dementia, but also for the families who love them.
Chartwell Vista is a beautiful community in Victoria that already provides a full range of housing – from independent living to long-term care and memory care. With the addition of this weekly cognitive wellness program, it now becomes something even more powerful:
A one-stop care village, where families with different care needs can stay connected in one building.
This program welcomes:
- Residents inside the building who want to stay active and engaged
- Seniors from the surrounding community who are isolated, managing early-stage dementia, or simply in need of joyful connection
- Family caregivers who need a much-deserved break
At the heart of our program is a belief that healing happens through connection – to others, to music, to memory, and to movement. Our Adult Cognitive Wellness Program is Montessori-based, designed specifically for adults with dementia, depression, or cognitive decline. Every session is filled with meaningful activities that are carefully structured to stimulate the brain, promote independence, and spark joy.
Our vision is to bring accessible, flexible, and community-based care to every senior who needs it – eliminating long waitlists and meeting people where they are. Whether it’s a senior center, assisted living building, church, or nonprofit, we bring the program directly into the community. We believe care should never be one-size-fits-all – it should be designed with dignity, purpose, and love.
This isn’t just about one new program.
This is a movement to bring innovation to dementia support – to break down long waiting lists and institutional barriers, and to make sure that no family ever feels alone.
If you’re a senior, a family member, a caregiver, or a community leader – this program is for you.
And if you’re part of a nonprofit, a senior building, or a community center that wants to bring this kind of support to your own location – we’re here. We’ll work with you. We’ll build together. Because we believe every senior deserves access to joy, dignity, and purpose – no matter their stage of memory loss.
To our partners at Chartwell Vista, thank you. Your openness and vision make this kind of work possible. Together, we’re not just filling a gap – we’re building a village.
Because that old saying still rings true:
It takes a village to care for someone with dementia.
And we’re honored to be part of yours.
